Mark Thomas
Mark Thomas has extensive leadership experience in the areas of global investments, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, development, finance, and operations.
He founded and became Managing Director of Estabrook Partners, LLC, a private equity and advisory firm located in Boston, Massachusetts, in 2008. The firm successfully acquired Midway Games, Inc. from Sumner Redstone and subsequently sold the company’s assets to Time Warner, Inc.
Mr. Thomas previously served as a Managing Director of Georgetown Partners, LLC, where he effectively led the negotiation process for the acquisition of the wireless licenses and operations of Ameritech in Missouri and Illinois. He also directed joint venture negotiations with companies such as GTE and Verizon Wireless. He also led the restructuring and sale of Envirotest Systems Corporation, the nation’s largest auto emission testing company.
Mr. Thomas served as Senior Vice President, Director of Development, and Member of Executive and Policy Committee at ITT Corporation, one of the world’s largest hotel, gaming, and entertainment corporations. He executed all aspects of the merger, acquisition, joint venture, divestiture and development activities of ITT worldwide and spearheaded ITT’s entry into the gaming industry.
Mr. Thomas’ other past positions included Associate General Counsel at The Promus Companies Incorporated where he negotiated the agreements for the first Western hotel in China.
Mr. Thomas served as Chairman of the Board of VSA Arts of Massachusetts from 2005-2010, a non-profit organization with a major focus on improving the lives of people with disabilities through using the arts in education.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Business and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama in 1977 and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama in 1980.
