Isabella Products Launches the Inaugural “Vizit the Schools” Program

Through its award-winning Vizit® digital photo frame and VizitMe.com service, Isabella is set to deliver a new innovative and educational experience to elementary schools

Concord, MA, September 14, 2010 — Isabella Products, a mobile Internet device and services company, announces the first annual “Vizit the Schools” program throughout the US. Launching this month, ten elementary schools are receiving Vizit two-way digital photo frames to utilize in their classrooms for a four-month trial to help define how Vizit can become an educational tool for students. Vizit is the world’s first two-way full touch screen digital photo frame allowing friends and family to share photos from anywhere, anytime.

“The “Vizit the Schools” program was established to help empower teachers with a new piece of technology that is simple to use and convenient for sharing student-based content from just about anywhere to the classroom,” says Matthew I. Growney, Founder & CEO of Isabella Products.“Our teachers have a brand new, highly interactive device, in Vizit, to experiment with sharing photos, classroom memories, stories, and other educational-based content.” For example, one classroom in New York City is being paired with a classroom in Tennessee in a modern day digital pen-pal exchange. These classes will begin swapping photos to show how life and being a student compares between the two different states.

In April of this year, Vizit was piloted in a classroom in Woodstock, Georgia, assisting students with autism as a visual education tool. Vizit was used to teach the identification of feelings, display photos of field trips, review flashcards for math facts, display an adapted book for reading, teach sequential skills such as hand washing, and to deliver pictures as prompts for writing assignments. Cindy Deane who piloted Vizit at Mountain Road Elementary explains that her classroom “has a wide range of technology available to our students, [though] it often does not meet the specific needs of our students with autism or other special needs. I was able to use Vizit in several ways that helped my students learn.” From the pilot program, other teachers came forward with creative uses for Vizit in their classroom, developing the basis for the “Vizit the Schools” program.

Vizit’s mobile connectivity allows images to be shared directly to the frame in a matter of minutes through email or picture messaging, allowing a teacher to take images throughout the day of a particular subject and share it instantly with the classroom frame. Other Vizit uses in the classroom will include: having parents send photos to Vizit in support of career day or a specific educational theme, having teachers encourage students to develop artwork to be displayed on the frame in another school, and having students display their own personal stories or biography on the frame as a visual lesson. The result will be a truly interactive experience between teachers and students throughout participating classrooms. This inaugural program will run through December 2010.
